Twice in a year.......nice.

I am pretty sure I blogged 2 times last year. Sorry about that. We are all still alive though. It snowed a ton here today. 4 inches is a ton for Texas so that is how I am going to say it!! I am still working for Pinnacle, Sasha is still a mom and Gaelyn is still cute as ever. She is 2 and almost 3 months old. She kinda likes primary but loves playing with all the kids there. Sasha and I are teaching 6 year olds in primary and I am our ward choir director. Gaelyn recently lost my wedding ring but I let her hold it so it is totally my fault. We thought she swallowed it and when we didn't see it in her poo after a week or so we got an x-ray. No ring, just a lot of poo. She has trouble pooping these days so we keep her on a steady diet of miralax and prune juice. That always makes things interesting!! I will keep you posted on that. It may be 2012 when that post happens but if something amazing happens, I will let you know then!!

Why we even have a dog

I have a funny story about our dog and why we have him. Before we got the dog we realized that there would need to be a change of lifestyle. We didn't know how much of a change it would be or how much work it would be until it was too late. So we really wanted to get rid of him but since we got him from a shelter we didn't want to send him back there. We had a choice to make keep it or get rid of it. So here is the story. One day we (Sasha, me, Gaelyn, and Jasper the dog) were at a playground. Gaelyn was across the playground doing her own thing when two kids approached me and Sasha and the dog. They asked if they could pet the dog and we said sure. When Gaelyn saw what was happening she ran, as fast as she could, from across the playground screaming, "STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT!" And when she got to us, what was she going to do, start a fight? She didn't know what to do so she screamed some more. "NO, NO, NO, STOP IT, STOP IT, NO, STOP IT!!!" Sasha and I learned that even though we were not attached to the dog then, Gaelyn was. He is great with her. When we are busy, Jasper and Gaelyn run around the house together yelling and barking. Jasper lets her sit on him, pull his ears, jump on him, you name it, she has done it and he is fine with it (except for getting hit by Gaelyn's whacker-stick. He doesn't like that.)
So, that is why we have a dog......still.

PS Jasper is afraid of our fly-swatter.

So our last post was like forever ago.......

As depressing as it is, not much has changed. One exciting thing is going to be happening this weekend though. My 2 brothers and sister and their respective spouses will be visiting us for a few days. We are going to go swimming, eat food and eat processed meat products (hot dogs).
Gaelyn is happy and healthy. Here are some pictures:

Oh yeah, we have a dog now.

If you think you want a dog, you don't. If you think about it again and decide you still want one, you can have ours. We love our dog but having a dog as an adult is a lot different than having a dog as a kid. Sigh.......

?????

I now you all think we are dead but we are, in fact, not. We are still in Dallas, we are still doing fine. Gaelyn is huge and happy as ever. She is almost a year and a half now. We have a dog. His name is Jasper. He is a lab-ish something. We got him at a shelter. He is very good. In the future we will probably put a picture of him on the blog. It might be a while as you probably assumed. I am going to go to bed now. I am sleepy.

Gaelyn's first ER visit

Today was an interesting day. Last night Sasha accidentally broke a drinking glass in the kitchen but cleaned it up right afterward. This morning I woke up and fed Gaelyn just like normal. She didn't eat much and started fussing so I put her down on the ground. I started to make my lunch for the day while keeping my eye on the little one. I thought I saw her put something into her mouth but I didn't think much of it. A few minutes later I looked at Gaelyn and she had some stuff dribbling out of her mouth. I was then quite confused at where this brownish-redish slobber was coming from. I put my finger in her mouth and did a sweep from right to left and on the left side of her mouth was a piece of glass. The brownish-redish slobber turned out to be blood running down her chin.
I was calm about it and hoped she hadn't swallowed any glass. I told Sasha about the morning and we agreed to take her to the ER so they could X-ray her tum-tum-tummy. She didn't like the ER (who does!!) but she was very well behaved. After the tests she came out squeaky clean.....no glass in her stomach. Thank goodness. All is well and she is super happy.
Check out the ER pics. She is even cute in the hospital!!

Some pictures of the baby

It has been forever since we have posted anything so we wanted to put some pictures of Gaelyn. She has grown so much and we love her cuteness. We hope you do too!!

These are the last few pictures of her in Phoenix. We left shortly after these pictures were taken.

Gaelyn SUPER SHOPPER!!!

No longer in Phoenix

It is true. We are now in Dallas Texas. I accepted a promotion and we had to relocate. So far we love it here and we have no time to update this thing because we are in the process of house hunting. We will post later with a ton of videos and pictures. Stay tuned....if you care.

New Moon Trailer!!!

I just watched the New Moon trailer and Holy Yes!!!!!!! I'm so dang excited! It's a good thing they're filming the movies pretty much back-to-back because waiting forever in between movies is not an option.
THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON trailer in HD

Careful folks, when you see this face coming at you, you have mere seconds to save your life! She really is the most adorable little girl EVER!!!

Wiggle-Worm

Glen put Gaelyn in her bouncy-chair for a minute so he could do something in the kitchen really quick. When he returned to get her this is what he found.

This was taken after Glen's graduation ceremony. It is so hot here. We had only been out of the building maybe 5 minutes and we were all sweating. Poor Gaelyn was so hot that she too was sweating and her cheeks were all red. I ended up dumping water on her from her sippy-cup to cool her off.

Strawberries

Gaelyn loves strawberries. I read that you aren't supposed to let babies try berries until they're older, but Glen and I were snacking on some and she really wanted to try some. We put one in her little chewy-net deal and man-o-man did she like it! She couldn't wait for the next bite!

This is what happened when the strawberries were all gone.

Skype

Living far away from family can be a real bummer, especially when you start having kids. It's sad that you can't bring them to visit their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins somewhat frequently. So, the next best thing turns out to be Skype. Just about everyday Gaelyn either gets a call or calls family. She loves her Skype calls and gets very excited when she hears Skype ringing! It's really cute. So, living far from family stinks, but for now Skype helps bridge the gap.
